| I've been meaning to chronicle my trip to NY back in late December/January. Twas a sweet trip, because the only agenda I had was food. I highly recommend some of these places (noted with *). I'll just list out what I ate:
- Pizza Buffett (local pizza joint near Sammy's store in Manhattan) - Korean BBQ in Palisades Park (forgot the name of it, but wasn't too bad)
The next morning we headed down to Washington DC: - McDonalds in Edison, NJ (for some reason, the food wasn't too great) - *Amsterdam Falafel Shop (in Adams Morgan, VA - probably the best falafel I've ever had) - Coastal Flats (McNeal, VA - ordered the Lobster Roll - delicious) - Lincolns Waffle Shop (Arlington, VA - don't order the Scrapple - if you don't know what it is, you won't like it)
Headed back to NY: - *RU Hungry "Grease Trucks" (ordered the Fat Sam - delicious "dirty" sandwiches) - *Amy Ruths NY Waffle (near Harlem, probably the best chicken/waffles I've ever had) - Continental breakfast at my friend Gene's Condo (they have free breakfast in the mornings - sweet!) - *Shake Shack (best burgers I've ever had - nuff said) - Home made seafood at my friend Mike's place - Paris Baguette - *Lombardi's ("best pizza on the planet"? pretty freakin good) - *Cafe Habana (Corn on the cob with cheese and hot sauce - makes my mouth water just thinking about it) - Sam's house for some korean BBQ (can't beat home cookin) - Westway Diner (don't order blueberry in NYC - it tastes like dirt) - Grand Harmony Chinese Restaurant (delicious Dim Sum) - *Prosperity Dumplings (5 dumplings for $1 - pretty freakin good for 20 cents each) - Chipotle (I prefer the hard shell tacos) - Kammioak SLT (korean beef stew - delicious after drinking all night during nye) - Homemade ddukguk and galbijjim to start off a new year - Homemade steak - *H&H Bagels (nothing special, but surprisingly delicious - I ate them plain and they were still good) - *Mahmoun Falafel (great NY falafel) - ***Halal Cart on 53/6th (3 stars because this was the best dish I had during my trip - gotta check it out - they open at 10pm - go easy on the hot sauce - possibly the most spiciest hot sauce I've ever had) - Homemade jjajang myun - Sam's house for more korean BBQ - Paris Baguette - *Grays Papaya (not sure if I ate at the original, but still pretty good) - *Koronet's Pizza (slices that are bigger than your head - literally) - ***Halal Cart on 53/6th - Zabars Cafe - *Katz Deli (world famous - gotta try their pastrami and corned beef - order some pickled tomatoes too) - Bonchon Chicken (food was good, ambiance felt like a korean nightclub - interesting) - White Castle (I could see why some people get hyped about it) - *Ippudo NY (japanese ramen - tied for the best ramen joint I've ever had - though a little pricy)
Only thing I didn't have that I really wanted was good Italian food, all the more reason to make another trip out. Come with me next time, I'll let you buy me dinner!
